This massive Czech production is directed by a Czech filmmaker named Petr Jákl, and it’s about an iconic Czech warlord from history – though it’s all in English and features an international cast. The film tells the story of fifteenth century Czech icon and warlord Jan Zizka, who defeated armies of the Teutonic Order and the Holy Roman Empire.   Frank Grillo To Star In Brad Anderson’s Creature Feature ‘The Dagon’; Independent Entertainment & CAA Launching Sales At Cannes Frank Grillo  ( Kingdom ) has signed on to star in the thriller  The Dagon , from director  Brad Anderson  ( The Machinist ), which will soon head to Cannes.  Independent Entertainment ’s Head of International Sales Sarah Lebutsch will handle international at the Marché du Film, co-representing North American rights with  CAA ’s Nick Ogiony. The film centers on Jack (Grillo), a father looking to control his family’s isolated rural life. When his eldest daughter comes of age, the family must confront the Dagon—the terrifying, deadly creatures that surround them every night. A 15-year-old teenager reportedly has been  killed in eastern Ukraine  while trying to help evacuate animals from a zoo.  The Feldman Ecopark outside the city of Kharkiv – which has seen rampant fighting during the war – said Wednesday that “during the evacuation of buffaloes… the team of our employees and volunteers got under fire.”  “One person died. Two people were seriously injured.
